MIL NLF Interview Record

MIL — NLF Pre-admission Interview Record

NLF Subcommittee — Character and Calling

Instructions to interviewers

Review the applicant’s testimony, senior pastor recommendation, governing body recommendation and regional/network recommendation before the interview.

The interview assesses character, calling and readiness to begin supervised MIL while theological studies continue. Competency and chemistry will be assessed during MIL. This interview does not approve ordination.

Ask one question at a time in plain language. Where helpful, ask: What happened? What did you do? What changed? Who could confirm this?

Record the applicant’s answers separately from the panel’s findings. Do not judge character or calling by English fluency, confidence or speaking style. Clarify concerns fairly and allow the applicant to respond. Keep the completed record confidential.
